New Federal Reserve rule requires customers to "opt-in" to Bedford Loan and Deposit Bank's Overdraft Coverage for ATM and one-time debit card transactions.

Bedford Loan and Deposit Bank is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general insurance rules.

Bedford Loan and Deposit Bank is willing to help make those first steps in helping to teach your child to start saving. Once your child fills up their quarter saver they can come in with a parent or guardian and open a savings account with $5.00 or more. Two forms of identification are required.

There are many variations of the scam. It usually begins with someone offering to:
* Buy something you advertised for sale; * Pay you to work at home; * Give you an "advance" on a sweepstakes you've won; or * Give you the first installment on the "millions" you'll receive for agreeing to transfer money in a foreign country to your bank account for safekeeping.
Scammers claim to be in foreign countries where they say it's too difficult to pay you directly, so they'll have someone who owes them money in the United States, send you a check or money order.
The amount of the check or money order may be more than you are owed, so you are instructed to deposit it into your bank account and wire the remaining funds to the scammer or someone else. You may also be told to wire some of the funds to pay a fee to claim your "winnings." Scammers may also promise to transfer funds directly to your bank account, wanting you to provide your account information for an electronic funds transfer. Once you provide your information to the scammer, they in turn send a phony check or money order to your bank with instructions to deposit it into your bank account. When you inquire on your bank account, it seems as if the funds have arrived. Whatever the case may be, the end result is the same...once you've wired the funds, you find out that the check or money order has bounced.
It's a scam that can cost you thousands of dollars. BE AWARE!

Bedford Loan and Deposit Bank opened its doors in Bedford, Kentucky at 45 highway 42 East on November 2, 1891 as a full service bank.
It was not until 85 years later, that a second branch was established. On April 5, 1976, 1029 Brownsboro Road became the home of the Sligo Branch.
