We're delighted to have you visiting our website and we appreciate your interest in us. We want you to know that we are also interested in you. If you are looking for a church home or a place to worship while visiting Louisville, we want you to come visit us at the Watterson Trail Church of Christ. We know that an unfamiliar place can be somewhat intimidating. So, let us tell you more about us.
Our goal is to restore the New Testament church in our time; to determine from the Bible what the church (started by Christ through His apostles) was like in the beginning and to be like that church (Matthew 16:18).
What kind of people can you expect to find? As in most groups, people of every age and every race may be Christians. You will find people who make mistakes. You will also find people at different levels of spiritual maturity who are striving to serve God, their families, and their fellow man. You will not find any perfect people, but you will find forgiven people. We are a diverse group, coming from varied backgrounds and at different stages of knowledge and spiritual growth. We are human beings striving together to love God and our fellow man.
Ministry Activities Highlight
As a congregation of believers we want to be actively engaged in ministries which glorify God. Therefore, here is a list of just a few of the things we are actively doing. Hopefully, this will help you understand better who we are and what we're about:
We have small group Bible Classes for all ages on Sunday mornings (9:30am) and Wednesday nights (7:00pm). Our teachers are well trained and do a fantastic job.
We have monthly "Activity Nights" where we get together to just hang out, eat, and play games (table tennis, corn hole, domino's, and various board games). This promotes quality fellowship and helps to forge bonds of friendship. Every fifth Sunday of the month we have a "Friends and Family Day" and occasional "Neighborhood Sunday" where we emphasize evangelism and have a potluck meal together in our fellowship hall.
One of the ministries we are most proud of is our Scout Programs. We host a Cub Scout Pack for boys and an American Heritage Girls Troop for young ladies. These are excellent programs and we are especially proud of our Scouts.
Also, the church operates a community Food Pantry which serves as a benevolent outreach ministry.
These are just a few of the things we do to try to positively influence our area for Jesus. As a congregation of the Lord's body here at Watterson Trail in Louisville, Kentucky we work to imitate the New Testament pattern for the church. We strive to be a called-out body of believers trying to show the love of God and spread the saving message of the gospel to all the world. Here at the Watterson Trail CHURCH of CHRIST we want to be faithful in our mission to LOVE AND SERVE GOD - AND EACH OTHER.
We hope you will come and visit with us soon!
Nothing at all! You are welcome to participate, but don't feel that you must. You will be asked to fill out a visitor's card. This provides information so the church can write or call to thank you for your visit. Supply the information if you are comfortable doing so.
