Harold Nelson, a welder, started Nelsons Tents out of his garage in 1979. Harold loved going to outdoor events. When Harold saw many events ruined by bad weather, he decided to start making tents in order to make the events weather proof.
In 1987 Harolds son, Jack, took over the business. In 1989 Jack Nelson moved Nelsons tents to its current location in Cold Springs, KY and added linens and wedding accessories to their portfolio.
Under Harolds vision and Jacks leadership, Nelsons tents has grown into one of the premier event companies in the tri-state area.
