As any fashionista knows, if you’re looking to find out the upcoming trends then look no further than the runways of fashion week. So what did the runways predict for fall?
- Industrial: think dark army greens, khaki, cargo, and lots of pockets.
- 20’s & 30’s glamour: think “Mad Men”, full knee length skirts, cardigan sweater sets, structured coats, and trench coats.
- “Chunky” (thick cable knit sweaters) “Boyfriend Style”, big slouchy sweaters paired with skinny jeans and boots for a simple, yet stylish look.
- Menswear: Skinny black pants, boyfriend jeans, oversize tops and sweaters. Make sure you don’t pair “boyfriend jeans” with an oversize sweater though, you want to show that you have a figure, and don’t want to appear frumpy.
But my favorite trend?
No trend at all! Remember trends are guidelines or ideas, NOT rules. Wear what you feel comfortable in, and what fits your personal style and body type.
And finally, If you are going to follow trends, and incorporate them into your style, please don’t incorporate them all at once. Less is more.
