St. Charles Care Center, founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame, opened the doors to its first resident in 1961. The skilled nursing facility was joined by The Village, a retirement community in 1985. The Adult Day Health Program began offering daytime care for the elderly in 1986. And in 1992, The Lodge with 72 senior living apartments welcomed its first resident. Since then, the Village has been expanded and St. Charles has initiated an At Your Home Program to help seniors maintain their independence and remain at home.
St. Charles Care Center, Village and Lodge continues today, as it began in 1961, with a commitment to care for the senior population and their families with dignity, respect and a deep devotion to the healing ministry of Jesus.
