CWF Board meeting will be Monday, November 29th at 9am here at the church
The Giving Tree
The Giving Tree will be placed in the narthex on Sunday, November 28th. Each year our church assists families to have a brighter Christmas by providing needed gift items. You are encouraged to take a name off the Giving Tree, sign the sheet next to the tree and buy a gift.
Please bring your wrapped gifts to the church by Sunday, December 12th.
Also, you are invited to be a part of delivering the gifts and food to the families on Tuesday, December 21st. Food items and financial contributions are very much needed to make this Christmas project successful! You are encouraged to give one cent per year for each year since the birth of Christ - $20.10. These funds support the Giving Tree and the ministry of the Christian Church in Kentucky.
The following food items are needed for the food baskets that will accompany the gifts from the Giving Tree:
Coffee, Canned Goods
Thank you for helping to bless these families during Christmas.
PLEASE BRING ITEMS TO THE CHURCH
Give A Share
We have received a family on the list for our Christmas Giving Tree that heats their home with wood, because they have no central heat. We know that a special Christmas blessing for this family would be a load of wood to help heat their home. We are creating a designated location, hoping to gather a load of wood to deliver to this family.
If you have wood to donate, please“GIVE A SHARE”. Any amount that you wish to give will help provide heat for this family during the winter months. Please bring your wood to the FCC Storage Building on the northeast corner of the church parking lot. We will have an ongoing woodpile at this location.
Disciples General Minister and President Sharon Watkins was among a group of religious leaders who recently met with President Barack Obama. Among other things, the delegation urged the president to help implement domestic and international policies that strengthen families and fight poverty.
The Nov. 1 meeting brought together nearly 20 religious leaders from both the National Council of Churches and Church World Service. "We visited the White House at the President's invitation to acknowledge together the 100-year history of the modern ecumenical movement, especially through the National Council of Churches and its predecessor organizations," said GMP Watkins. "We also took the opportunity to remind the President of our common faith and values related to extending God's love to all our neighbors, and to work toward improving the lives of those in need."

Paper goods in the kitchen are available for the use of the church, but if you see that the supply is low or you empty a carton, please note on the Want List on the bulletin board in the kitchen. This will assure that all supplies are available when needed. The list is checked weekly so that I know what to order.
